DNRC is hiring a weed coordinator
This person will oversee our noxious weed management, serve on different state-wide committees for noxious weeds, work with county weed coordinators, and work with the latest mapping and collection software to create the best resources for weed management.
The Carter County Weed Board is looking to fill the Assistant Weed Coordinator position.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to work full time April through November (with some overtime during spray season) and part-time (20-30 hours per week) December through March. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, ATV/UTV operation, operating pickups while towing a trailer, map reading, GPS operation, record keeping, weed ID and weed spraying. Office work will also be part of the job with billing, chemical sales, grant writing, helping landowners write weed plans, as well as typical clerical work and other duties as assigned or outlined within the job description. Good people, leadership and management skills are a must. This position will work with the County Weed Coordinator to plan and implement the county weed plan. This position is also expected to super a field crew in the absence of the County Coordinator. Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license. Applicants must currently have a government pesticide license in categories 55 and a dealer’s license, or applicant must be able to obtain those licenses within 60 days of employment, as well as becoming certified to inspect and certify forage for the Montana Noxious Weed Seed Free program.
