  • First pondweed to come up in spring and to die back in mid-summer
  • 2 – 3 inch blue-green leaves; wavy along the edges
  • Leaves stiff and crinkled; approximately 1/2-inch wide and 2 – 3 inches long

Important InformationThis plant produces small greenish brown pinecone look-a-likes called turions. It forms dense mats in the water and appears reddish-brown in the water, but is actualy green when pulled out of the water.
