HELENA, Mont — The Montana Invasive Species Council (MISC) will hold its next meeting on May 23, 2018, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the State Capitol Building, Room 152 in Helena.
The morning portion of the meeting will focus on administrative business including a review and approval of revisions to the Council’s budget. A discussion about the 2018 Governor’s Summit on Invasive Species is also scheduled for the morning, which will focus on the Council’s invasive species law review project—the theme of the 2018 Summit.
In the afternoon, the MISC will hear project updates including the recommendations resulting from the invasive mussel eDNA science advisory panel. Agency partners and stakeholders will also have an opportunity to provide invasive species updates to the Council. MISC committees including Education & Outreach, Data Management, Tree Pests, Firewood, and Invasive Trees will provide reports in the afternoon.
The MISC is a statewide partnership working to protect Montana’s economy, natural resources and public health through a coordinated approach to combat invasive species. All MISC meetings are open to the public. For more information, contact Stephanie Hester, MISC Coordinator at 406-444-0547.
