Leaves:

 

Sword like leaves can be 4 to 5 ft tall.

Flower:

 

Showy yellow spring flowers with sepals etched in brown or purple.

 

Roots:

 

Thick tuberous rhizomes.

 

Seeds:

 

Germination rates from 48% to 62%

 

Other Notes:

 

Currently no know infestations in the Yellowstone River Corridor.

Plants grow vigorously in water or wet soil.

Yellow Flag Iris is poisonous.&nbsp; Even when dry it causes gastroenteritis in cattle.
